From the desk of the founder Director

Philosophical discussion is always necessary for the growth of philosophical knowledge. It offers an opportunity to learn new ideas, bring conceptual clarity to thoughts and sharpens philosophical thinking. It unfolds a new space for learning. During my student days, we used to have weekly meetings and discussions with Professor R. C. Pradhan on a philosophical topic, which were quite beneficial for my academic growth. I continued to have similar weekly meetings and discussions with my research scholars when I became a faculty member. The Forum for Philosophy is a product of those weekly meetings. Though the weekly meetings continue and is limited to the Department, Forum for Philosophy functions independently. It has been integrated with Tattvanveshi Philosophical Society. The basic aim of the society is to disseminate philosophical knowledge to participants and interested learners. Thus, the forum conducts academic events, such as, book discussions, lecture series, workshops, seminars and conferences. We also collaborate with other institutions and forums which have similar academic interest. The forum intends to serve philosophy by widening the scope of learning which is not easily available to many students of philosophy.
